Random art post
Today I decided to post a painted cover image I did for a DC comics JSA/JLA team-ups collection. I did this a few years back, and it is trademarked and copyrighted DC Comics.
Thanks all! I will try to scan some Shazam paintings soon, Dan. Mike, it's a challenge to do paintings when I spend most of my time with line drawings. I like aspects of this one, but I was rusty when I did it. And I used mostly Gouache, which is really kind of forgotten nowadays as a medium, but was the preferred method of painting when I worked in commercial art in the late 70's. There's something about it that really looks rich in person, and mistakes can be blotted up, and repainted after the board dries a bit. DYLAN: Great work up on your blog!
Very bold! Great power! Always impressive! I'd love to see some of those Shazam covers when you get a chance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Jerry- lovely to see REAL painting- I spend too much time in the Photoshop world, forgot how 'pure' colour can look.
